How do I change the random number generator (rand, rng etc) to a pseudo-rng (Sobol, Halton, etc) in Matlab functions?

I have a task to complete that requires pseudo-random numbers as input, but I notice that the MatLab function I want to use does not have an option to select any of the pseudo generators (Halton, Sobol, etc) I want to use. MatLab has them as stand alone functions. Is there a way to incorporate them in to the rand or rng functions embedded in other code (e.g. copulafit, copularnd)? Any pointers would be much appreciated.
