Shell script to select a random html/text file from a folder and send it as an email

I am trying to write a shell script where the script selects a random(example.. out of 15 files) html/text file and send it as an email content and not as an attachment.., no matter what i try.., I was just able to send the file as an attachment and not as content of the email. If i try to save the file as .txt or something, the email is sent with content containing all the raw(html tags) data.

Any idea or help in this would be appreciated.
