I am working on a research project for school where we are comparing the Rate and Quality of generated on entropy generated on an Android device and a laptop. My question is that is it possible to get the rate of entropy generated under "normal conditions" (when the entropy pool is not full, empty etc) and during the boot up process?
From my understanding, under normal conditions we can empty the entropy pool and see how quickly it goes from 0 to average entropy value for our defined devices. And for boot time rate, we implement a boot time script that we preprogrammed to be launched at the same time system is being launched, so that we start reading from 0 values of entropy and up until the first user input on the non-blocking pool since blocking pool is generally unused during kernel boot.
All of this is a vague idea of how we can go about to achieve our goal. But is it possible to do such a thing? Any ideas where we can start?
