How to change CodeSkulptor canvas with user input from buttons

How can you make buttons such that when clicked:

• asks user for message which appears on the canvas
• asks for text color that changes text color on canvas
• asks for text size that changes text size on canvas

I've used an entry field to enter a text message, but I don't know how to use buttons to prompt the user for a message.
