Output, Input variable in Terraform 0.12

while creating a random_pet aws resource, i'm able to output this value to a vairable name. But i'm unable to use this variable name as an input to the next module. Or how do i even use this output as an input variable to other module ? Looking forward to any helpful tips ion solving this
