Random values for age, gender, sex using R

I have a need to fill a dataset with random values for age, gender and sex for about 800,000 records. I require this for data modelling. Could you help which is the best method to generate random values? Should I use R, SPSS? I am finding tough to do in Excel as it is very slow. I
