can you randomize two DOM elements that are link together on load?

Quick question just wanted to know if this is possible. I've been doing some research but not getting much results. Is it possible in (JS and/or jQuery) to randomize two elements that are linked together? So for example, if I have five images and a different favorite button associated with each individual image. So when an user reloads/opens the page that image button are still 'combined' but just displayed in a different area of the page. Is this possible? If so, please lend me a hand so I can start on some research and coding! Thanks.
