Generate an image of pink (flicker, 1/f) noise in Python

I would like to generate a 1000x1000 monochrome image of pink noise. So far I've only found these posts:

However I'm not quite sure what is the best way to write that to an image on a disk. I think OpenCV or PIL can be used, but I'm not sure how
