Remove nth percentage of cells randomly from a raster in r

I have a big raster layer from worldclim. I want to remove 95% cells randomly (or select 5% cell randomly) from one raster layer. The output should be a raster layer. How can I do this. A similar example is answered here, but it doesn't work for me. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
