Random over sampling for string data

Hi I have a training data set containing sentences with relevant scores.But most of the sentences have score around 0.1 and very less with 0.9.i want to perform random over sampling over the dataset to increase the number of sentences with score 0.9.I am getting errors for string cannot be converted to float while implementing RandomOverSampler Please suggest me the way to that?
