if randomly generated numbers are pseudo-random how can we find the pattern?

so, can we for example generate n-numbers then use some function to analyse those numbers and give us the "pattern" or how are they generated (e.i what function was used to generate those numbers). also, wouldn't this enables us to predict the next generated number?
